Google celebrates Gmail’s 15th birthday with some pretty impressive updates
Gmail turns 15 this week, and Google is celebrating this big milestone birthday by launching some improvements to its popular email platform.
You know Gmail’s Smart Compose feature, which essentially finishes your sentences while you’re writing an email? Its new iteration mimics your writing style and is less formal, as it adapts to your writing tone. It will also suggest subject lines based on the text of your email, and offers Smart Compose in other languages like Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
These features are available now on desktops and Android devices, and will be coming to iOs “soon.” We’re not sure if we should be creeped out or impressed?
Google also announced that Gmail users now have the ability to schedule emails. Once you’re equipped with the new version, just click the arrow next to the “send” button in drafts, and either specify a time and date to send the message or choose from presets like “tomorrow morning.”
