4 menswear trends from London Fashion Week FW19
Fashion Week always brings it in all four major fashion capitals of the world—New York, Paris, Milan and London—but there’s something different about London. The British runway shows break the sartorial rules and are especially innovative and different, especially as it pertains to menswear.
Even though we’re still in spring/summer mode here at Garmany, it’s never too early to look ahead to next season. Our style pros reveal the biggest trends from the London Fashion Week Men’s presentations and how to get each look now at our store.
Green and Blue
Forest green just might be the new black. Quite a few of the fashion shows put deep green sweaters, blazers, suits, and accessories down the runways. You can’t go wrong with a green cashmere sweater from Autumn Cashmere or the Forest Green and Black Quilted Couture Vest from Ermenegildo Zegna Couture.
Synthetic materials
Coats and jackets made of suede, wool, cashmere and other luxury materials will never go out of style. But designers showed off outerwear and suits in synthetic materials like nylon and polyester. Try a classic nylon puffer jacket or vest from Moncler and/or the quilted Car Coat from Peter Millar.
Oversized tailoring
Boxy, oversized tailoring is the style of the future, if the runways were any indication. These new iterations prove baggy pants and loose-fitting jackets don’t have to look sloppy. The Loro Piana Cashmere Shuttle Coat epitomizes this look to a tee.
Hiker sneakers
A hybrid between a hiking boot and a sneaker, hiker sneakers were the biggest shoe trend from London Fashion Week Men’s. We’re partial to the Oberon Lace-Up Hiking Boot from Magnanni.
