A turtleneck is the layering must-have piece
You already know how jackets, scarves and coats are key to perfecting the layering look for cold weather, but trust us when we tell you that turtlenecks fulfill that same purpose. New iterations of the turtleneck have been popping up all over the women’s wear runways and have been shown layered in innovative ways, like under blazers or chunky knits or with silk dresses or camisoles.
The key is to wear turtlenecks that are relatively fitted so they won’t bulk up whatever you’re layering them with. Here are a few options available at Garmany to get you started:
A leopard-print turtleneck in Ganni’s signature mesh fabric worn under a coat is lightweight enough that you won’t overheat, plus the print will pop against an otherwise neutral outfit.
A cashmere turtleneck from Autumn Cashmere works well layered over a tank and/or under a fur vest. It even takes the place of a scarf when worn with a puffer jacket or raincoat.
A luxe velvet turtleneck like one from Caroline Constas can be tucked into a skirt with a long cardigan or worn loose with boyfriend or skinny jeans.
A cotton Rag & Bone turtleneck is anything but basic when paired with a jumpsuit or leather jacket.
A fitted merino wool pullover from Rebecca Taylor looks great with high-waisted jeans or under another chunkier knit.
