You’re Blushing!
When it comes to wine, rosé is on the rise. No longer considered your “grandmother’s drink,” the quality of the pink stuff has dramatically risen in recent years, say wine experts, and its popularity has skyrocketed. Who drinks the most? People in the know in the New York City metro area, where rosé has come to be associated with a laid-back, luxe lifestyle (think well-dressed revelers sipping rosé pool-side at a party in the Hamptons).
The newest take on rosé? Una Lou Rosé, a canned–yes, we said “canned”–wine from California’s Scribe Winery, which comes in a $40 four-pack. The husband and wife team of Andrew Mariani and Lia Ices created the wine in honor of their first daughter, Una Lou. It’s fresh and zippy and comes out of the beautifully designed can which enables you to take it along on a picnic or to an outdoor concert (plus no need to haul along wine glasses). It’s easier to recycle too and can go where glass is prohibited, like on the beach.
So pick up a pack and get ready to explain yourself when you start sipping wine from a can. Remember, you’re ahead of the curve, and others are sure to follow.
